Flynas to Establish a New Airline in Syria

The Syrian Investment Authority has announced the technical details of a billion-dollar investment package led by Saudi Arabia. According to information from Al Arabiya and Reuters, Saudi Arabia’s low-cost carrier Flynas has completed preparations to establish a new private airline that will operate in the Syrian market. As part of the investment package, stc will be responsible for telecommunications infrastructure, while BinDawood will undertake the development and operation of Aleppo International Airport.

Following the lifting of sanctions in December, this project is described as the most comprehensive initiative planned to date. ACWA Power is expected to sign agreements related to water treatment and transmission processes. With the official announcement of the deal anticipated on Saturday, February 7, the newly established airline is expected to begin operations with a fleet of more than 12 aircraft. The project focuses on modernizing Aleppo Airport and increasing Syria’s regional aviation capacity.
